DO NOT COME HERE!! I had a TERRIBLE experience here. I bought a groupon a while ago for a conventional oli change. Every time I tried to use it, they had a 2+ hour wait, regardless of the day of the week or time. Finally, my groupon was about to expire, so I took time off of work to get my oil change done on a Tuesday morning. I called ahead and they told me the wait was around 30 minutes. I arrived 10-15 minutes later, and all of sudden the wait time was now 1 hour.

The mechanic told me that there was a surcharge for the groupon because my car only takes synthetic oil. I was fine with that, so I asked him to quote me. He said $24 surcharge.

I waited an hour and my car was ready. The mechanic attempted to charge me $30 extra. When I asked him why he had quoted me $24 earlier, he tried to deny it. He said "I told you it would be around $30," which was a blatant lie. I called him out on it, so he reduced the surcharge to $24 as discussed.

Approximately 2 weeks later, I was on I-35 driving to San Antonio when I heard a scraping noise. Turns out there there was a piece of the undercarriage hanging from the bottom of my car and scraping on the pavement. I don't know anything about cars so I was really nervous. I was forced to drive 2 hours on the highway w/ the scraping because I had to appear at a scheduled hearing there (I'm a lawyer) - I couldn't miss it. When I returned to Austin, I immediately took the car to the dealership. They told me that splash guard was not properly secured from whoever I previously taken the car to for my oil change. They said "we honestly aren't trying to get you to switch service, we're just telling you that's what happened." They charged me $15 for labor and fixed it.

I called Groovy Lube to complain and ask them to reimburse me for the $15. Nothing to do with money, just principle. They committed the error, so they should pay for it. The manager said there was no proof that they had failed to secure the splash shield, so they wouldn't pay for it. They said I should've taken it back to them. I explained that I had no idea what the problem was until I took it to the dealership, at which point they were already fixing it. The manager was very rude and refused to hear me out. I held my ground and he took down my info for the GM to call me. He said he would ensure that the GM would call.

Surprise surprise, the GM never called. I called them again about 2 weeks later and one of the mechanics answered. He was also very rude and told me the GM was on vacation. I asked him to take a message and he said "There's nothing I can do, he's on vacation." He also told me I'm unlikely to ever get a call back. Sure enough, I never got a call back, even after the GM returned from vacation.

So all in all, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Seriously, I only went in for an oil change. How hard is that? Never going back again.
