    This place is an Austin tradition. Its been here for 80 years. The atmosphere is homey and welcoming. Not pretentious. The oyters are fresh and delicious. Especially the pepper patch ones. There is a great seafood market, cold beer, awesome service and a good menu. I have had some food that was served overcooked but not the grilled oysters and the fish tacos were sublime.

    No frills...just incredibly delicious, moderately priced fare with friendly, efficient service. Noticed on this last visit that you can even get table service at the bar or the bar height tables. Added bonus if you would rather not order at the counter
